Our incredible coast
Whether you enjoy birdwatching, invigorating coastal walks or sampling the finest, freshest local seafood, this beautiful, coastal landscape has something to tempt you.
19th August 2013More festival fun: Rubber, lycra and a giant cage
Just as promised in my last blog I made sure to get up to Whitehaven on Friday to catch the last of the Lakes Alive performances. Dancers and street performers have been lighting up towns from Cleator Moor to Millom all week and on Friday a crowd at Whitehaven Harbour got to witness the talents of The Maniax, Bernie Bennett and Motionhouse Dance.
15th August 2013Festival fever: in the Western Lakes
FESTIVAL season is continuing in the Western Lake District this week.
The Maryport Blues Festival hit the town in July and later this month people will descend on Aspatria for the colourful and tuneful Solfest.
7th August 2013A great stay in Seaton: Armidale Cottages
On our recent trip to the Maryport Blues Festival (blog to follow later!) we dropped in on Sue Dahl at the Armidale Cottages B&B.
The beautiful cottage is set in a pretty half acre of garden and ideally situated for easy travel to the towns of Maryport, Cockermouth and Workington (as well as the fells of the Western Lake District).
